Ok, I'm going to the gym for real now. I have my gym clothes on and everything... Swear.
But I just found out some really exciting news.
I'm going to Chicago in a couple weeks! I've never been. Granted I know it will be really cold, I've heard its a really great city, and I've always wanted to go.. and I'm just super excited!
The BF mentioned a few days ago that he might be going on a business trip to Chicago in March. And then he asked if I would like to come along (ya know, since I'm unemployed and basically live in a fantasy world where I pretend I'm a housewife.) Well DUH. I LOVE to travel, especially to places I've never been... especially with the BF (who has never been to Chicago either) and I love to travel even more when I don't have to pay for a place to stay (BF's company is paying for a room at the Hilton. nice).
So now I ask you...
What should I do in Chicago?? Do any of you live in Chicago? The BF will be in a conference from 9 to 5 every day, and so it will just be me wandering around the big city...
Any advice, recommendations, etc would be much appreciated...
In general I'm a huge fan of food, wine, shopping, and art museums.

DEF go to Michigan Ave. SHOPPERS MECCA! I'm telling you, it's amazing. So go there. You have to see the Bean. Do you like fish? The Shedd Aquarium is fun. So many things... Chicago is great, but very windy and cold. I think you'll enjoy it, though. I'm only about 2.5 hours from there.
Jealous! I've never been, but I've always wanted to!
Chicago is a GREAT city. You'll love it. Shopping~ Michigan Ave. My favortie restuarant~ Avec. If you love food and wine, you'll love Avec. The owner was a judge on Top Chef Chicago. I've taken the architercture boat tour. It was really fun. Also, Navy Pier is fun to visit.
Chicago is a great city to visit! I agree that Michigan Ave. is the place to be for great shopping and the Shedd Aquarium is really cool. If you like art museums you should go to the Chicago Art Institute. They just opened new Impressionist exhibits and I'm pretty sure that admission is free during February.
I've never been, either, but I am totally jealous! And I know you're going to have an incredible time. I hear it's wonderful!
I went to Chicago a few years ago at Christmas time and it was just SO fun. I can't wait to go back again. Have a great time!
